CBS Legacy Society

In 2012, in conjunction with our 90th-anniversary celebration, the Legacy Society at Congregation Beth Shalom was initiated. At that time, over 70 individuals stepped forward to lead this vital mission. Fortuitously, shortly after our own Legacy Society was started, the Delaware Create A Jewish Legacy program was established. The Create a Jewish Legacy of Delaware program provides training, support, and monetary incentives for all member organizations of the Jewish Federation of Delaware. Our Board of Directors agreed this would be an ideal partnership for us and we joined this community-wide outreach.

During these unprecedented times, we take time to reflect on our lives and our future. We think about the things that are important to us, our values, what we can do to bring them to fruition and to make the world a better place. A legacy fulfills a spiritual ideal. Each one of us has the power to leave a legacy one that is faithful to our passions and dreams for the future, and also one that carries on the legacy of those who came before us. Legacy gifts are not just for the wealthy. A legacy gift can be made by anyone for any amount. Please consider the importance of Congregation Beth Shalom, your synagogue home, to you and your family. A planned gift continues into posterity and helps to ensure that our children’s children have the opportunity to participate in Jewish life, full of pride and knowledge of their family history and sacred traditions.

There are many different methods to fund your legacy gift. There are also ways to ensure that your gift is used according to your special wishes and the values that are important to you. If you have already included a legacy gift in your will or estate plans, THANK YOU! If you would like information about planned giving or would like to join our Legacy Society please email legacy@cbswilmde.org. If we do not know the answer to your question(s) we will put you in touch with someone who can help. We look forward to working together with you to ensure a vibrant future for Congregation Beth Shalom.
