Benefits of Membership

Of course, the most rewarding benefit of membership at Congregation Beth Shalom is being part of this special community. In addition, there are certain specific entitlements, which accompany membership.

High Holy Days Tickets
Members of Congregation Beth Shalom receive High Holy Days tickets for all household members including children still residing at home up to age 27 (including college students).  Additional tickets may be purchased for other family members (not living in the immediate area) or for other family guests for an additional charge per person. Congregants may also reserve seats in the Main Sanctuary for use during the holy days at an additional charge. Please contact the office for current pricing and availability.

Hebrew School Enrollment
Members of Congregation Beth Shalom are welcome to enroll their children in our Hebrew School. Equally members of the community (unaffiliated with Beth Shalom) may also enroll in our Halutzim program.  Tuition fees for Hebrew School programs are in addition to the membership dues.

Life Cycle Ceremonies
Life cycle ceremonies, including baby namings, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, weddings, and funerals, are presided over by Rabbi and Cantor Elisa, for all Jewish Beth Shalom members at no fee. The sanctuary is available for any of these events to Synagogue members. Congregants may also reserve the Social Hall and Atrium for a nominal fee. Please contact the office for scheduling, pricing, and availability.

Use of Facility
Congregation Beth Shalom is available to congregation members for religious and social gatherings. The Synagogue office maintains a fee schedule for private events and those events that involve the serving of food.  Our main kitchen is under the auspices of the Va'ad HaKashrus of Delaware, allowing Kosher meals to be prepared and served throughout our building.

Cemetery Plot
Every Jewish member of Congregation Beth Shalom is entitled to purchase a cemetery plot and perpetual care in the Congregation Beth Shalom section of the Jewish Community Cemetery on Foulk Road in Wilmington. You can also look up information about grave locations or learn of upcoming yahrzeits and current eulogies.
